Due to the coronavirus induced pandemic globally, and the state of emergency in Ontario, Brock University conveyed on May 28th, 2020 that a Fall 2020 course delivery will be primarily online. This had never occurred before. Considering that some of BUSU’s functions are heavily related to on campus activity, BUSU staff have been working diligently to identify what the appropriate fee schedule should be. Our primary principle is to ensure that student’s receive value which is multiple times over of what they pay in fees, from BUSU. That said, below is an ancillary fee schedule that takes into consider value for students, sustainability of operations and our overall mission which is to effectively represent undergraduate students to all relevant stakeholders and to enhance the benefits of attending Brock University by providing a variety of programs, opportunities, and services while creating an atmosphere and culture of acceptance, inclusion, and tolerance.

Zone Expansion Fee

  • Original: $17.00/credit
  • Revised: $0.00/credit
  • Change: -100%
What is the fee and what does it go towards?
Last year, students voted in favour of funding the Zone Expansion project, which will see the Zone triple in size from 4,300 square feet to 15,500 square feet. The Zone project is on track for a fall 2020 completion.

What is the update?
The Zone Expansion Fee has been reduced by 100% for the upcoming year. Once the Zone is complete, and students are safe to return to the fitness facility as per the provincial government's instructions, undergraduate students will have full access to the facility even though the fee has been completely removed for the year.

What is the update?
The Green Levy has been reduced by 100% for the upcoming year. BUSU was able to invest in 5 new water filling stations using funds from the previous year. And so that project is already funded and we don’t need to collect anything more. You can expect new stations in Welch Hall, the Zone, and East Academic despite the fee being reduced completely.
