The existing Brock Student & Alumni Centre​ opened in 1990.​ At that time, Brock had 5,523 full-time undergraduates.​ Today, Brock has over 15,000 full-time undergraduates an increase of 170% since 1990.

The new Student Centre, which will be centrally located on campus, will offer 45,000 sq. ft. of additional space, opening up opportunities for BUSU to support clubs, events and services, more than ever before, and providing areas for students to connect, collaborate, relax, have fun, and feel like they belong to the Brock University community.
