Bridging the Gap: BUSU Event Opens Conversations Between Students and Local Politicians.

Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) is bridging the gap by providing an opportunity for Brock students to meet and have an open discussion with local, provincial, and federal politicians.

BUSU will be hosting Pizza with Politicians in Isaac’s Lounge, providing a platform for students to gain valuable insights into the world of politics, public service, discover potential career paths and understand the impact you can make in your community while enjoying free pizza and beverages.

"As students, we are often left out of political conversations and the spaces where decisions are being made,” said BUSU Vice- President, External Affairs, Alyssa Hall.
“By bringing government representatives to campus, my hope is that students have the chance to express their thoughts, opinions, and concerns about what is happening in post-secondary education to the politicians that have been elected to represent them municipally, provincially, and federally."

BUSU has a team of student Advocates, led by your VP External Affairs and VP University Affairs that advocate for and with students on issues that affect post-secondary education both on campus and in the community. This event will open the door to students, providing a chance to have the discussion themselves with special guests:

•    Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa
•    MP Vance Badawey
•    MPP Jennie Stevens
•    MPP Jeff Burch
•    Mayor Mat Siscoe
•    Mayor Ugulini
•    MP Chris Bittle

Pizza with Politicians will take place March 13, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Isaac’s Lounge. This event will have limited space available. For more information on this event, a brief bio on each politician and to reserve your spot, visit the BUSU website.
