Free Tax Clinic now available for students!

The Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) Free Tax Clinic will once again be taking appointments for Brock students to register and file their 2023 taxes. Appointments will take place with a registered volunteer and held virtually, Saturdays and Sundays from February 2 to April 3.

“Tax time can be a stressful time for students,” said Vice President, University Affairs, Carleigh Charlton. “BUSU’s Free Tax Clinic is a great way for students to get their taxes done properly, with ease, by a registered tax expert.”

Students participating in the Free Tax Clinic will need the following documents:

·       Social Insurance Number

·       Government-issued identification

·       T2202A or T2202 - Tuition and Enrolment Certificate, issued by Brock University

·       Rent payment receipts, issued by your landlord or tenant management teamT4 or T4a slips

Appointment requests can be made directly on the BUSU website, starting Jan. 26. Appointment times will be arranged with the clinic volunteers via email.

Students interested in learning more about their taxes can pop into the Taco ‘Bout Taxes event happening Jan. 30 in Union Station from 7pm -9 pm. This is a FREE drop in event for students to learn about their taxes, as well as the new BUSU Tax Clinic and how our team of volunteers can assist you for the 2023 tax submission year, all while enjoy free tacos!
