    The Arab Students' Association at Brock's major goal is to raise Arab students' voices and bring Arab culture to life on campus. My aim is to be these people's voice, to ensure that our culture is recognised and acknowledged. At BASA, we want to make sure that every event makes a lasting impression on everyone by providing a memorable experience and a good time. It's important that we also teach others who are interested in our culture and want to learn more about it. The Arab Students' Association will be open to anyone who is interested in becoming a member. This club will bring Arab countries from the Middle East and North Africa together to form a larger society and allow them to learn from one another's cultures.

    1. To create a team made of leaders from each department council from the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences (Sport Management, Kinesiology, Nursing, Public Health, Recreation & Leisure, Medical Science) whose goal is to provide guidance and opportunity for the students within the FAHS.
    2. A student mentorship program designed to guide first-year students in the FAHS transition from high school to Brock University.
    3. The FAHS mentorship program brings together students mentees and mentors from each department to aid in professional development, networking, and career exploration.
    4. The program involves online and face-to-face mentoring, networking events and connections to career development resources.

  • Global Medical Brigade

    Description:

    Brock Global Medical Brigade is a volunteering club that works with Global Brigades under the medical sector to help implement a holistic model into remote, rural, and under-resourced communities in Latin-American and African countries. Students will be learning about these communities, the way they live, and how to help them medically and socially; they will also be fundraising and finding resources/supplies for these communities throughout the year. At the end of the year students have the opportunity to go on an optional medical brigade to one of these communities where students will gain hands-on experience in the field and shadow licensed healthcare professionals as they consult community members on their health needs and prescribe medication. Student volunteers will have the opportunity to intake patients, perform triage, distribute medication under licensed pharmacists, and facilitate preventative medicine workshops. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in working in the medical field, helping others around the world, and maybe even learn a new language!

    The Brock Health Magazine is a student-run academic magazine based out of Brock University. Our publication began in 2009 and covers all aspects of health. Undergraduate students are encouraged to submit articles on a topic related to health, or on a current breakthrough in the field. Topics cover all aspects of health, such as spiritual, emotional and physical health. All the information for the articles comes from credible journal articles written by researchers in the field and the articles are edited for quality and accuracy by graduate students. The Brock Health Magazine also consists of a series of hot headlines, faculty spotlights, and graduate student spotlights.
