Malak Eldafrawy
Hi! My name is Malak Eldafrawy, and I’m your Vice-President, University Affairs at BUSU for the 2026/27 academic year. I recently graduated from Brock University with a degree in Psychology, so after spending the last several years here as a student, it feels especially meaningful to now have the opportunity to advocate for the students who make up this community.
BUSU was actually part of my Brock University experience long before I became VPUA. Some of my favourite memories as a student came from getting involved with BUSU clubs. I served as Co-President of the Psyc Society Club, where I was able to connect with other Psychology students and help create a welcoming community within our program. I was also part of the executive team that helped establish the Egyptian Students’ Association, creating a space where Egyptian students could connect with one another, celebrate our culture, and find a sense of community on campus.
Being involved in clubs showed me how much of the university experience happens outside of the classroom. Through clubs, events, and the people I met along the way, I found a stronger sense of belonging at Brock and made some of my most memorable university experiences. Seeing firsthand how BUSU can shape the student experience made me want to get involved in a different capacity, where I could represent students more directly and help make sure their voices and concerns are heard.
As VPUA, one of my main responsibilities is representing student voices in conversations and decisions that happen across the University. I sit on Brock Senate and serve within its governance structure, where I bring forward student perspectives, concerns, and experiences on issues that affect students academically and across campus. I want students to know that their voices are being represented in those spaces and that they can come to me with concerns they want to bring forward. My role also includes working on student services, including the UPass and other support that help students navigate university life.

I’m really excited to spend this year representing you, hearing from you, and helping make Brock University a place where students feel heard, supported and connected.
