Hello Brock students!
On Sunday, May 3rd, the Brock University Students’ Administrative Council (BUSAC) met for the first time this term. A summary of what took place is below:
–Anna Lathrop, Vice-Provost Teaching and Learning presented to BUSAC on her role within the university and how councillors can improve the student experience.
-Jonathan Champagne, Executive Director of the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations (CASA) introduced CASA to the councillors and spoke on upcoming plans for the year
The following BUSAC councillors were elected to committees:
–Appeals Committee: Mohammad Jaberi, Geoffrey Verrier, Alyssa Beradocco
–Ethics Review Committee: Matt Campbell, Amalia Banava, Sarah Irandost
–Governance Committee: Alexander Hobbs, David Hanula and Shanza Hashmi
Board of Directors:
Two councillors were elected to the BUSU Board of Directors. Madi Fuller, a returning councillor/Board member, as well as Mazin Amin, a new councillor with BUSAC.
Towards the end of the meeting councillors heard presentations from the new Executive team on their platforms and their major plans for the year.
BUSAC will reconvene on July 26th for it’s second meeting of the term where the remaining committee seats will be filled.
