Hi all,

October has been a busy month, and one of the things I have enjoyed most has been having more opportunities to connect with students directly across campus.

I recently hosted a tabling session, and it was great to see so many students stop by throughout the session. Whether students came with questions, wanted to share their thoughts, or simply stopped to say hello, I appreciated having the opportunity to connect with so many people. Being able to have those informal conversations is one of my favourite parts of the role because it gives me a better sense of what students are experiencing and what is important to them.

It was also great to see such a strong turnout at the BUSU carnival. I had a lot of fun hosting one of the games and getting to interact with students in a more relaxed setting. University can become very busy, especially as the semester progresses, so it was nice to be part of an event where students could take a break, have fun, and spend time together.

Outside of events, much of my month has been spent continuing conversations, attending meetings, and supporting the work happening across BUSU. As President, a large part of my role happens behind the scenes through discussions with students, staff, the executive team, and the University. I have continued bringing forward student perspectives in these spaces while working to ensure that the priorities we have set for the year continue moving forward.

I have also enjoyed seeing the executive team begin to make progress on their own priorities and projects. As we move further into the year, I am continuing to support that work while making sure we remain connected as a team and focused on the issues that matter to students.
My next tabling session will be November 11, and I would love to see you there. You do not need to have a question or concern to stop by, come say hi, chat for a bit, or just come by for a treat! These opportunities are just as much about getting to know students as they are about discussing BUSU, so everyone is welcome.

As we head into November, I am looking forward to continuing to be out on campus, meeting more students, and building on the work we have started this semester. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to stop by, have a conversation, attend an event, or share their feedback with me so far.
