Hi! My name is Zuha Ahmad, and I’m in my third year of the Business Communication program. I currently serve as a Student Ambassador for the Communication, Pop Culture, and Film (CPCF) department, as well as the co-founder and marketing lead for the Women in Self-Defense Club at Brock. Previously, I served as the Social Media Coordinator for the CHYS Association, where I helped increase outreach and student engagement.
I’m running for Senate because I became interested in governance after taking a policy-making course last year. I wanted to be part of educational decision-making processes on campus and advocate for students at the institutional level. I want to focus on equity in classroom experiences by advocating for reforms around accommodations and participation activities. Students learn in different ways, and it’s important to support them in ways that are meaningful and accessible so they can enhance their learning through both institutional supports and their own strengths. When policies reflect how students really engage and learn, they can create better student experiences :)
