Evan Buchanan

I am a Bachelor of Accounting Co-op student in the Goodman School of Business and Brock’s First-Year CPA (Chartered Professional Accountants) Representative. My academic path has taught me the value of structure, ethics, and responsibility. Studying accounting and pursuing the Bacc/CPA stream has reinforced how important oversight and clear processes are when decisions affect others. Those lessons shape how I approach advocacy, and stewardship. Through my involvement in student leadership, I have seen how unclear decision-making and limited communication can disconnect students from the organizations meant to represent them. Strong systems, fairness, and receptiveness make a real difference in whether people feel heard and respected.

Outside of my studies, I enjoy staying active on campus through Goodman clubs, competing in intramurals, and working on creative entrepreneurial projects. Overall, I am seeking a seat on the BUSU Board of Directors to help ensure student governance reflects transparency, fairness, and responsibility. I believe effective representatives are grounded, approachable, and willing to listen before acting. I want to be part of a Board that listens, provides clarity around decisions, and acts in the best interest of students. Trust is built through consistent and principled action, and I am committed to upholding that standard.
