Debate Cancelled, Referendum Continues On

Debate Cancelled, Referendum Continues On.

The Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) regrets to inform the students of Brock University that the schedule referendum debate on Monday October 22nd has been cancelled.  Over the weekend the elections committee was informed that the “No” campaign team was unable to attend.  The Elections Committee in turn offered the “Yes” campaign an opportunity to present their campaign during the schedule time.  The “Yes” campaign declined the opportunity.

Therefore the Elections Committee cancelled the schedule debate.

With this said, the election, referendum and scheduled voting days remain unaffected and students are urged to watch their BROCK email accounts for the voting link on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week.  There will also be voting stations located around campus in Mackenzie Chown A Block, outside Fishbowl and in the Learning Commons.

The Elections Committee would like to reiterate that this referendum question is asking for a financial contribution from students and that the results of the referendum will affect all students.

In the meantime, the Elections Committee urges students to use www.brockbusu.ca/elections to get informed about the election and referendum and to review the impartial information sheet developed and endorsed by the Elections Committees found at www.brockbusu.ca/elections.

Thank you and be sure to cast your vote October 23-25th.
