FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Press Release: BUSU, Union Station, and Thorold Foodland Present the 5th Annual Community Free Food BBQs
The Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU), Union Station (a division of BUSU) and Foodland have partnered to provide students, neighbours and community members the 5th Annual Community Free Food BBQs.
The St. Catharines Community BBQ will take place on Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Church of the Transfiguration, 320 Glenridge Ave in St. Catharines from 4:00pm until 6:30pm.
The Thorold Community BBQ will take place on Wednesday, October 3, 2011 at South Confederation Park from 4:00pm until 6:30pm.
The first Community BBQs took place in 2008. BUSU started the initiative to provide a source of connection between students and their neighbours to help better community relations. The BBQs were a huge success as BUSU served free burgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers to over 1,300 students and community members.
This year, the St. Catharines Community BBQ will be supported by BUSU’s food court Union Station, and the Thorold BBQ will again be supported by Foodland Thorold. Together, Union Station and Foodland are donating over 2,000 burgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers to the event. BUSU is very grateful to our sponsors, and values the important contributions they continue to make to the community.
BUSU encourages all community members to attend the BBQs in the hope that BUSU can once again be a vehicle for students to connect with their neighbours and their community.
BUSU is a not-for-profit organization representing and working to improve the post-secondary education experience of students at Brock University.
