Why

After almost 1000 surveys, the number one complaint/concern that was voiced by the student population was that the zone is too small and students are resorting to paying for the student life fee (which gives all students access to the zone) as well as a gym membership elsewhere which costs anywhere between $350.00-$550.00 for an 8 month cycle ( ie: Goodlife, Anytime Fitness, Fultons, LA Fitness etc.)
University population has grown significantly since the Zone was built (Population at Brock has grown by over 60% since then and at that time students only could use the zone if they paid for the membership).

Zone capacity is frequently being exceeded. Many students go to the fitness centre as a mechanism of coping with stress and BUSU believes that it should be a students' right to be able to use a resource that helps with a students’ well-being.

What

If you vote yes and this referendum is successful, we'll take the zone from 4,300 sq ft to 15,500 sq ft (an addition of 11,200 sq ft).
