BUSU Creates More Student Space

Brock University Students’ Union opens new space for students success

This week’s grand opening of the Brock University Students’ Union’s COLLABRATORIUM marks the end of a long summer of work to reimagine the old General Brock Store location from retail to student service. The decision this spring by the BUSU executive and Board of Directors to consolidate our retail operations into Academic South left the General Brock Store available for a new purpose. With space on campus always at a premium the decision was made to house as many new student services as possible in the repurposed location. The new COLLABRATORIUM is meant to be a synergy of undergraduate student services sharing the same space. Group meetings and student club bookable meeting space, open study lounge, free to use microwaves and tea pots, 5cent photocopiers and printers, and the first student union run Food Bank. We are incredibly proud of the work put in this summer by our fulltime and student staff, and grateful for the excellent work of Brock Universities Facilities services for helping us build a space we can all be proud of.

Thanks and be sure to come by this fall,
