2018 Bus Route Changes

Students, we have three (3) updates about transit for you. These updates affect students living in Thorold.

  1. ROUTE CHANGE: Winterberry Route (331/431) has been removed due to a decision by Thorold City Council. BUSU and Brock have worked tirelessly to have Thorold City Council change this decision and unfortunately are yet to have this issue resolved to our satisfaction. BUSU will continue to work with Thorold City Council to get this route restored as soon as possible. For now the route has been changed.
    1. The Route will now be known as Brock-Richmond (331/431) and will no longer travel on Winterberry Blvd. The route will stop at two (2) points on Richmond (see the below map for the new stop locations.) The changes to this route should appear in the St. Catharines Transit App shortly (http://www.yourbus.com/news/st-catharines-transit-app/).
  2. NEW ROUTE: Thanks to the passing of the U-Pass Referendum in October we have been able to create a new route. The new route is the Brock-Towpath Evening Shuttle (432). This route will run Monday – Thursday after 6:30pm. Please see the route map and timings below.
  3. NEW BUS STOP: Again thanks to the passing of the U-Pass Referendum in October we have been able to work with Niagara Regional Transit to provide a new stop on route 50/55 that connects Niagara Falls and Brock. The 50/55 will now make a stop on Pine Street South in Thorold before continuing onto Brock. This will provide Thorold students living in the Queen St, Richmond St, Elgin St and Rose Ave areas direct access to Brock. Please see the stop location and timing below.

The route formerly known as the 331/431 Winterberry will no longer travel on Winterebrry Drive, and will now be known as the 331/431 Brock-Richmond. You can view the full schedule/route times here (PDF).

The stops for this route will now be located on Richmond Street as shown below.

The BUSU Executive and Brock Administration are continually meeting with the Mayor of Thorold, City Councillors and Staff in the hopes of restoring the original Winterberry Blvd Route. If any progress is made, we will ensure that students are aware of changes ASAP. This is has been a top priority for a number of months for BUSU and is an issue that we have been working on since August 2016.

There are two new stops. Stop #1 is Richmond across from the Raspberry Trail Circle. Stop #2 is at Richmond before the Confederation/Richmond Stop Sign.
